Curvy & Confident

Back Next

She stares at her image in the mirror and begins to feel insecure about her reflection

She wishes she could lose more weight and squeeze her voluptuous body into a size 8

And go on a date with a man who will appreciate

Her curves

I gaze into her eyes and tell her all women are not meant to be small

Besides she is more beautiful than a bulimic Barbie doll

And she should be proud of her thick thighs

She is not sickly thin or skinny as a stick

So she should be proud of her size

She tells me she gained more weight while being pregnant with a baby

I tell her more weight doesn’t make her less than a lady,

Besides all her baby fat looks good in Baby Phat

And she should be proud to be amply endowed

Because every stretch mark on her belly is a deep wrinkle

From the smile of god, for choosing to give birth to a child

I tell her God made her be curvy and rubenesque

So she should love the fact that she wears a larger sized dress.

Because true beauty isn’t measured by a woman’s size or breasts and

She has to realize that her true beauty is her inner essence.

And I tell her she wont find happiness counting calories of the diet foods in the shopping cart

Her true beauty cant be measured by the height and weight on a BMI chart.

She’s got to love her shape because every curve on her body is God’s work of art

And she wont find her true beauty by staring in the mirror.

For that, she’ll have to look deep inside her heart.

She glances in the mirror again her true reflection becoming more apparent

As she recognizes she is cute in the face

And thick in the waist

She realizes she is a fabulous full figured female not afraid to flaunt her figure

She is curvy and confident God made her to be bigger

She should be proud that she is thicker

This poem is for all you beautiful women who chose to pass

On the gastric bypass

Who goes to the gym, not to try to get super slim

But to stay healthy and trim

Some of those unwanted pounds

This poem is for all the women who have ever been called overweight

To all the women wearing a size bigger than an 8

For all the curvaceous women who don’t need anyone to validate

Their beauty.

This poem is for all the women who have ever been called fat on a date

By men attempting to hate a thicker woman with curves

And for all the thick women who had the nerves to respond

And tell the haters to kiss their assets

This poem is for all the women who heard of a new diet

And decided to try it.

Whether it was Weight Watchers, South Beach, Jenny Craig, or weight loss pills

And for all the women who went to bed without a meal, and bought a treadmill.

And still didn’t manage to shed their curves

So they finally said, I’m tired of ordering salads

Tonight, I’m eating steak

This poem is for every woman who tried to tuck, tone and nip away

Pounds to no avail

Who finally decided to throw away that scale

Who came to accept that fact that they are a curvy and confident female

Despite claims of the contrary,

curvy and thick women are very sexy

and trust, I’d rather have a plus sized woman

with a bigger bust than a bulimic supermodel any day.

I’m allergic to super skinny women anyway.

Skinny minnies aren’t dimes, they are pennies

And anorexia, aint sexy

Not every woman was born to wear a size below 10

So, be comfortable in your own skin

And learn to love yourself

And I encourage all women to exercise

But curvy women should also love their thick thighs.

And NEVER apologize for being a voluptuous size.

Realize you must be secure in who you are

And if some guys cant accept you or respect you,

They don’t deserve you,

You are in control of your life and health

Happiness begins with loving yourself

And when you love yourself others will respond to you in the exact same manner

So never stand in the mirror and think negative thoughts of yourself

Curvy lady

Don’t kick the mirror, instead kiss the mirror

Love your reflection, and your true beauty will appear much clearer

And if a man cant accept your love handles that simply means

He cant handle your love

Just continue to carry yourself with confidence because you are sexy.

Not all women are meant to be small, besides curvy women

Are more beautiful than a bulimic Barbie doll,

I love y’all ,

Thick women.
